Pine Tree Pistol Club House Gun Match
A House Gun Match is a friendly competition meant to hone your gun handling skills. Many of us have a
firearm that we keep (safely) in our house or place of business. Guns allowed are regular "out-of the-box"
revolvers or semi-automatic pistols. Handguns with modified sights or attached lights are allowed. Highly
modified competition pistols will not be allowed. Common handgun ammunition (see our website for allowed
ammunition) can be used; the exception for this type of match is no magnum loads will be allowed. Shot shells
are also not allowed.
In a House Gun Match you will be shooting six different courses of fire (stages) requiring no more than six
shots per stage (revolver friendly). Your performance at each course of fire will be timed. Extra rounds fired at
the various stages or reloading, is allowed but will add to your time (hits count). Drawing from a holster is not
required but a strong side hip holster may be worn to make movement between stages simpler. If no holster is
used, each firearm must be unloaded and cased when transporting between stages.
SPECIFICS:
All Club and IPSC safety rules will be followed (cold range). If you are not familiar with them, the Range
Officer will explain them to you.
Allowed ammunition will follow Pine Tree's rules - no shot shells and the exception to the list is that no
magnum loads will be allowed for this match. An allowed ammunition list may be found on the Club's
website, www.pinetreepistolclub.com/ammolist.asp.
The cost to participate is $5.00 per run. You may fire the courses as many times as you like. (Bring
more than one gun.)
As always, SAFETY is first and foremost in all Pine Tree activities. No one cares how well you do, as long as
you operate the firearm safely. This is a great way to experience competitive shooting or to hone your gun
handling skills and marksmanship. It is also a lot more fun than shooting at paper targets.
